Out with the Old, In with the New: How to Make Healthy Cleaning Habits in 2023

The most important thing you can do at the start of the New Year is to make healthy changes, particularly in your cleaning and lifestyle habits. While any time is a good time to make a change, the new year is often a good time for reflection and action. Additionally, it’s very easy to lose your focus on this as the year goes on, and it’s likely that you’ll need to change your habits more than once as you go through life. Here are some tips from Plan: B Cleaning on how to start new year’s resolutions with healthy cleaning habits, and then maintain those cleaning habits throughout the rest of the year!

Resolve to start a good habit

The new year is a great time to start fresh and develop healthy habits that will stick with you throughout the year if you are consistent. A good place to start is by evaluating your living space and making sure it’s clean and organized. This will help you feel less stressed and more productive.

Here are some tips to get you started on getting into healthier habits this year:

  • Before you begin, set yourself up for success by laying out what needs to be done. Don’t overwhelm yourself, just pick one or two tasks each day so that they can be completed before moving on to the next task.
  • Use Google calendar, a tracking app, paper planner, or agenda to help you stay organized regarding key dates and key tasks. Update regularly to ensure you are working toward your goals daily. No system is foolproof, so do what works best for you!
  • Encourage yourself along the way! You can set up a reward system or way to incentivize yourself. Treat yourself however you want, with whatever budget you have! Treats can include a shopping spree, spa day, or even smaller items along the way. If you like to journal, you can purchase another item of stationery. If you enjoy baking, you can invest in a new tray or icing tip set. Invest in yourself and your interests. Positive reinforcement can go a long way! You also need to maintain discipline.

How to develop the discipline you need

If you’re someone who struggles to keep up with healthy cleaning habits and holding yourself accountable, then developing discipline is key. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

  • Set realistic goals for yourself – Don’t try to change everything at once, focus on one or two things that you really want to improve.
  • Make a plan – Once you know what your goals are, come up with a plan of action on how you’re going to achieve them. This can include scheduling time for yourself, setting reminders, or finding an accountability partner.
  • Start small – Take baby steps and celebrate each accomplishment along the way.

Small changes lead to big results

If you’re like most people, you probably want to focus on improving your health and well-being in 2023. Cleaning is a big part of health and well being, and a great New Year’s resolution. Dust, grime, and allergens in the cracks and crevices of your home can harm your immune system in the long run. There may also be mold growing and hiding in dingy spaces. Small changes lead to big results!

Even if you spend five minutes to put away or wipe down as much as you can, your home or office will gradually become more organized and cleaner. Try not to be intimidated by what seems like a daunting task. Little by little, you can work toward a clean space whenever you have some extra time.

Be patient – Changing cleaning habits takes time so don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results immediately.

It may seem like every time you clean, it gets messy again. Dust comes back, dishes pile up, and so on. Changing habits takes time so don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results immediately. You need to be patient with yourself and focus on grace and gratitude as well!

Storage and organization hacks for every room in your home

One way to keep things clean is by decluttering and organizing your home. A tidy space can help you feel calmer and more in control. Plus, if the stuff is all picked up and put away, it is easier to wipe down, vacuum and so on. Plus, it can make it easier to find things when you need them or want to put them back. Follow these simple storage and organization hacks for every room in your home!

  • Use bins. Bins come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and even textures. You can find a fabric bin, plastic bin, and so on. You can place them in any room and fill them with any thing
  • Use racks and shelves. Use shoe racks, book shelves, and more. This investment goes a long way!
  • Use labels! Labels make it easier to see what is inside these bins and boxes. You can use a label or simply create your own with paper and pen!

3 Do-It-Yourself Ideas to Elevate Your Space

  1. Give your front door a fresh coat of paint. This will instantly add curb appeal and make your home feel more welcoming.
  2. Plant some flowers or shrubs in pots near your front door. This will add color and life to your home’s exterior.
  3. Hang some wind chimes near your front door or in your backyard. This will create a calming atmosphere and help you relax after a long day.

Is cleaning on your resolution list for the year? Start 2023 off right by getting your space in order! You’ll feel more productive and less stressed when your environment is clean, tidy, and well decorated.

4 Tips for Easy Post-Holiday Clean-Up

After the festivities of the holiday season have ended, post-holiday clean-up is an inevitable part of life. But with a few simple tips and tricks, post-Christmas cleaning can be a breeze. Here are 4 tips for easy post-holiday cleanup that will help you get your home back in order in no time.

1) Tackle the Decorations

– Slowly and methodically take down all of your decorations. Start with those that are in difficult-to-reach areas, like windows and ceilings. This will help you keep track of which decorations have already been taken down, and it will also help to reduce the amount of clutter as you work your way through the entire house.

– Once you’ve finished taking down the decorations, create a storage system that will make it easy to find them next year. Label each box or bin with a description of what is inside, and make sure to store decorations in a dry, cool area.

2) Purge What You Don’t Need

Purge what you don’t need: If you’re like most people, you’ve accumulated a lot of new items during the holidays. Take some time to go through everything and get rid of what you don’t need or want. Donate any items that are in good condition and throw out the rest.

3) Toss the Trash

– Designate a trash bag or two for quick disposal. This is an easy way to quickly grab all of the debris that’s left after the holidays and dump it out in one fell swoop. It can also save you time when it comes to hauling it to the curb.

– Reuse where you can. Instead of tossing everything, make sure to keep an eye out for items that can be reused or repurposed for future holiday celebrations. This could include items such as bows, gift bags, and more.

– Recycle what you can. Some trash service companies in and around Fishers, Indiana offer curbside recycling options for items such as paper, cardboard boxes, and plastic containers. Take advantage of this service and place recyclables into the proper bins for easy collection.

4) Hire the Home Cleaning Professionals at Plan: B Cleaning

Enjoying the holidays with family and friends is a blessing, but the mess that comes with it can be overwhelming. Cleaning up after Christmas and getting your home back in order can seem like an insurmountable task. Fortunately, Plan: B Cleaning is here to help you get through the post-holiday cleanup quickly and easily. We offer one-time, weekly, biweekly, and monthly cleaning services.

Kwanzaa: What is it and How is it Celebrated?

Kwanzaa is an African-American cultural observance that falls in the month of December. In the United States, it was created by Maulana Karenga in 1966 as an alternative to Christmas and Hanukkah, but more representative of African-American culture and history. The first Kwanzaa celebration was held on December 26th, 1966, and continues today as a recognized holiday by African-Americans across the world. It celebrates the African harvest and key cultural values.

Happy Kwanzaa from us! Plan: B Cleaning strives to heighten cultural awareness in our community of Fishers, Indiana, and beyond. Continue reading to learn more!

About Kwanzaa

Who: Kwanzaa was coined in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga as a way to bring African Americans together after the Watts Riots and tumultuous times.

What: Kwanzaa is a seven-day African American holiday that celebrates family, community, and culture. The name Kwanzaa comes from the Swahili phrase “matunda ya kwanza” which roughly translates to “first fruits of the harvest”.

When: It is typically observed from December 26 to January 1st.

Where: Since Kwanzaa is primarily an African American holiday, it is mainly celebrated in the United States and other parts of North America. However, it has been popularized and is celebrated across the world, particularly in the Caribbean and other countries where there are large numbers of descendants of Africans.

Why: Families celebrate Kwanzaa and their culture by cleaning and decorating their homes, exchanging gifts, and spending time with loved ones.

The History of Kwanzaa

On each day, one of the seven principles is honored through an activity related to its meaning. For example, on December 27th the principle of unity is celebrated with a feast, while on December 31st self-determination is honored with cleanliness rituals. It is historically significant as it encourages African Americans to appreciate and bask in their heritage or culture, regardless of where they now live. This is extra meaningful as they faced many struggles and were often discriminated against. So, it gives them an opportunity to celebrate all that they have overcome as a community, as well as motivation to continue the legacy.

What Are The Seven Principles For Living

As aforementioned, Kwanzaa is a seven-day African American holiday, and each day focuses on one of the seven key principles. The seven principles of Kwanzaa are ….

  1. Self-determination
  2. Collective work
  3. Responsibility
  4. Cooperative economics
  5. Purpose
  6. Creativity
  7. Faith.

People celebrate Kwanzaa by lighting a kinara (candle holder with seven candles), giving gifts, decorating with colors that represent the holiday (black, red, and green), and feasting. On the first day of Kwanzaa, a black candle is lit in the center of the kinara followed by three red candles on the left side and three green candles on the right side.

Cleaning and Decorating for Kwanzaa

Before Kwanzaa can begin, you need to make sure your home is clean and decorated. After all, this is a time to celebrate! Start by giving your home a good cleaning. Wash the windows, vacuum the floors, and dust everything off. Once your home is clean, you can start decorating. To celebrate Kwanzaa, many people clean their homes and decorate them with African symbols. One popular decoration is the kinara, which is a seven-branched candelabra. Each branch represents one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. Other decorations include colorful fabrics, fruits, vegetables, and grains. Many people use red, black, and green to decorate for Kwanzaa.

These colors represent different aspects of African culture. Red represents the blood that was shed during the struggle for freedom, black represents the African people, and the green represents the growth and prosperity of Africa. You can use these colors in any way you like – whether that be through traditional decorations like candles or through more modern decorations like hanging banners or streamers.

Eight Nights of Fun: All About Hanukkah

In just a few days, Jews all over the world will celebrate the Festival of Lights, Hanukkah, which commemorates the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire that took place in 164 BCE. While this ancient festival may seem foreign to many people in America, it’s full of fun and meaningful traditions that are worth learning about and embracing.

At Plan: B Cleaning, we appreciate diversity in Fishers, Indiana and nearby areas. We hope to heighten cultural awareness through our professional cleaning service’s platform. Here’s what you need to know about Hanukkah and its traditions!

The History

Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Hanukkah lasts for eight nights and starts on the 25th day of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar. During the eight nights of Hanukkah, a special menorah is lit. Each night, one more candle is added until all eight are burning. Hanukkah is also a time for gift giving and feasting. Families gather to eat fried foods, play games, and exchange gifts. There are many different types of foods eaten during this festival, but latkes (fried potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts) are the most popular.

The Virtues

Hanukkah has similar traditions to Diwali, and is known as the Jewish festival of lighting lights, during the darkest time of the year. It celebrates rededication, rekindled spirits, hope and determination. Together, the community recollects on stories of the past and commemorates a historical event, as well as the diligence of their loved ones. They cherish these virtues and quality time with family members and friends.

The Decorations

One of the best things about Hanukkah is getting to celebrate by decorating your home with festive lights and dreidels. Of course, there is a special menorah with the appropriate candles for Hanukkah. Some families choose to decorate with other lights, rather than using candles. They often decorate using blue and white, as these colors are significant to the religion and its texts. The tallit, Jewish prayer shawl, is typically made in a white fabric with black stripes and one blue string. This blue fringe is made from a unique blue dye mentioned throughout the Torah. Other religious texts mention the color blue. Hence, the blue and white colors signify Judaism and Hanukkah when decorated.

The Recipes

One of our favorite recipes to make is the aforementioned Hanukkah Sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts). They are absolutely delicious and are a must try – whether you purchase them or make them. Here is a recipe you can try to taste and also share with your loved ones: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/hanukkah-jelly-doughnuts-sufganiyot-recipe

The batter you will use is the same batter used for cream puffs and éclairs. Hence, there is a very light and airy doughnut taste. But the filling, a spectacular dollop of jelly, can be made with a lot of flavors, as well. This is the perfect combination to satisfy your sweet tooth this holiday season!

The Festivities

Activities include lighting the menorah, praying, and cherishing their ancestors. There are dreidel games and contests, as well as several songs to sing along to. There are also lots of delicious snacks, as aforementioned. In addition, there are desserts and chocolates known as gelt, unique disc shaped, coin-like chocolates. There is also gift giving. Most importantly, there is lots of family time. Instead of being celebrated in the Synagogue, Hanukkah is mainly celebrated at home. This reduces formalities and encourages people to slow down, show gratitude, and cherish time with their loved ones! No matter how you spend Hanukkah or your holiday of choice, Plan: B Cleaning is here to take chores off of your plate, so you can enjoy such activities!

Top Ten Christmas Gift Ideas That Will Please Anybody

As you probably know, finding the perfect gift can be tough when you’re shopping for someone who seemingly has everything they need and want. To help make your shopping experience easier this holiday season and ensure your loved ones are impressed, here are ten Christmas gifts that will please anyone you give them to. Let’s take a look at each one in more detail below!

1. Give Your Time

One of the best Christmas gifts you can give is your time. Plan out a calendar of dates with special meaning to your loved one. This could be going on a walk together once a week, grabbing coffee every Tuesday morning, or having a standing date for lunch every month. Quality time is hard to come by and highly cherished. When you commit to spending time with someone else, they will know how much they mean to you. Another great idea is giving someone a day-off from their responsibilities. Plan something fun like visiting an amusement park or taking them out for dinner at their favorite restaurant. Be creative!

2. The Gift of Taste

It’s tough to go wrong with the gift of taste. You can bake something special, give a new cookbook or some fun kitchen gadgets, or even pick up a few restaurant gift cards. This gift is thoughtful for anyone and works no matter what stage of life someone is since we all have to eat! For example, for a college student or someone moving into their first apartment, they would probably really appreciate the kitchen supplies. For someone trying to get into cooking, new recipes would be key. For someone who loves your cooking, take a treat! The list goes on.

3. Boost Their Self-Esteem

Give the gift of self-esteem! This just means to give something emphasizing self care and how loved they are. Here are some ideas:

1. A personalized mug with a positive message
2. A “You’re Awesome” jar filled with encouraging notes
3. A new outfit they will feel great in
4. A book on self-care or personal development
5. A framed print or piece of art with an uplifting message

These are great Christmas gifts because they are highly customizable and also uplifting for any occasion!

4. Treat Them To A Massage

One of the best gifts you can give somebody is the gift of relaxation. A day at the spa or a massage will help them to forget their troubles and just enjoy being pampered. This is a great gift for anybody who is feeling stressed out or overwhelmed. Gift certificates are available in many different denominations and may be purchased in advance if desired. The most common locations for massages are salons, spas, gyms, chiropractors’ offices, beauty salons, resorts and hotel spas. However, many professional therapists provide this service in private homes or small office settings as well. It’s always nice to know that you’re getting the best service possible by booking with someone reputable so it’s worth taking some time to research which place would suit your loved one’s needs the best.

5. Contribute to An Experience

A great way to show you care is by contributing to an experience. Concert tickets, for example, are always a great idea. They can be used by the recipient at their convenience and provide them with an enjoyable evening out. Alternatively, if your loved one enjoys traveling, you could help save up for a trip abroad. By giving the gift of an experience, you’re sure to please anyone on your list this holiday season. By giving an experience, you will help their dreams come true and also give the gift of new memories!

6. Buy Them A Personalized Gift

A personalized gift is always a great way to show somebody that you care. It shows that you have put thought into what they would like and that you are willing to go the extra mile to make them feel special. A great place to start when looking for a personalized gift is with monogrammed items. You can find monogrammed items for almost anybody now, from clothes to jewelry to home decor. If you want to really wow them, look for a unique item that can be monogrammed with their initials, like a pair of custom-made cufflinks or a leather-bound notebook.

7. A Gift That Keeps On Giving

A subscription to a magazine, a monthly delivery of flowers, or even tickets to a show or concert series are all Christmas gifts that keep on giving long after the holiday is over. For the foodie in your life, consider treating them to a year-long subscription to a foodie box service like Blue Apron or Hello Fresh so they can experience new recipes each week. If you know someone who loves yoga, spin class or anything like that, look into ClassPass or similar subscriptions. There really is a subscription system for each person in your life to continue enjoying even after Christmas!

8. Movie Night Gift Basket

A movie night gift basket is the perfect present for anybody on your list. It’s thoughtful, personal, and something that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Plus, it’s easy to put together! Here’s what you’ll need …

– A movie or two (discs are old fashioned but loved)
– Popcorn or other favorite snacks
– Chocolate, candy, and other sweet treats
– Drinks of choice

You can also add …
– Movie related goodies like Funko Pops, legos, shirts
– Blankets and pillows to get cozy

Gift baskets are great because of how easy but customizable and useful they are!

9. Help Them Organize

Help them organize what they already have or just organize their day! Here are 8 Christmas gifts related to organization – just in time for the New Year!

8 Ways to Decorate Your Home for Christmas

Christmas time can be an exciting, yet stressful time of year. If you’re like most people, your days will be filled with cooking, shopping, cleaning, and other holiday activities to make sure that you’re ready for the big day on December 25th. However, another important aspect of the holiday (your home) can easily be forgotten if you don’t take the proper precautions! Follow these 8 tips from Plan: B Cleaning on how to get your home ready for Christmas!

1) Storage Ideas

1. Invest in some good storage bins. This will help you keep your decorations organized and prevent them from getting damaged.
2. Store your holiday decor in a cool, dry place. Heat and humidity can damage delicate materials like garlands and lights.
3. Use clear plastic bins to store smaller items like ornaments and Nativity scenes. This will help you find what you need quickly and keep everything dust-free.
4. Hang heavier items like wreaths on hooks or over doorways. This will save you space and prevent them from getting damaged by being stacked on top of each other.
5. Keep all of your wrapping paper, ribbon, and bows in one place.

2) Festive Crafts – DIY Christmas Wreath

Here is a quick guide to making your own Christmas wreath!

1. Start by gathering all of your supplies. You will need a wreath form, wire cutters, hot glue, and a variety of artificial greenery.
2. Cut the greenery into pieces that will fit well on your wreath form.
3. Begin hot gluing the greenery to the wreath form, starting at the bottom and working your way up.
4. As you add pieces of greenery, vary the heights and textures to create an interesting look.
5. Once you’ve covered the entire wreath form, take a step back and consider where you might want to add some extra embellishments.
6. Add embellishments include pinecones, berries, ribbons, and flowers.

You can also reuse the leftovers to make more ornaments or decorate gift wrap!

3) Wrapping Paper Storage

One of the best ways to get your home ready for Christmas is to declutter and get organized. One area that can be easily overlooked is wrapping paper storage. If you don’t have a designated spot for storing wrapping paper, it can quickly become a tangled mess. Paper can unravel and get crumbled. To avoid this, create a wrapping paper storage solution that works for you and your space. You can purchase a wrapping paper roll rack or organizer online. Or, you can cut out even holes in a large cardboard box and place the rolls vertically.

4) Deck the Halls

Here are some fun ways to deck the halls and brighten up your space:
1. Hang up some lights. Lights are what really give a space that festive feeling. You can put them up inside and outside your home.
2. Place a wreath on your door. Wreaths are a classic Christmas decoration that add a touch of elegance to your home’s décor.
3. Put out a Nativity scene. Nativity scenes are not only beautiful, but they also remind us of the true meaning of Christmas.
4. Set out a bowl of candy canes.
5. Hang up mistletoe on the ceiling – maybe at your front door!

5) Brighten Up Curtains

Nothing says Christmas like a brightly lit living room. If you want to give your home an instant holiday makeover, start by adding some festive cheer to your windows. New curtains are an easy way to do this, and they don’t have to be expensive. You can find plenty of affordable options at your local home store or online. Just make sure to measure your windows before you shop so you know what size curtains you need.

Look for golds, wintery whites, or whatever will fit your theme! You can also add light strands behind your curtains or on the rods.

6) Holiday Plants and Greenery

One of the best ways to get your home feeling festive is to add some holiday plants and greenery. Poinsettias are a classic Christmas plant, and they come in a variety of colors. You can also go for a more traditional look with holly or evergreens. If you want something a little different, try amaryllis or paperwhite narcissus. No matter what you choose, make sure to keep your plants healthy by watering them regularly and giving them plenty of sunlight.

Of course, greenery also includes a nice Christmas tree from your local farm. You can also opt for a reusable alternative. Either way, decorate with lights, ornaments, and love!

7) Light Up the Night

No matter what your budget is, there are plenty of ways to add some extra holiday cheer to your home. One of the easiest and most impactful ways to do this is by adding string lights. You can drape them across your fireplace, wrap them around your stair railing, or even just line them along your window sills. Not only will it make your home look more festive, but it’ll also make it feel cozier and more inviting. You can also use Candles with wintery scents to spice it up!

7 Tips For Scoring The Best Black Friday Deals

Black Friday is finally here, and if you haven’t started your shopping yet, there’s no time to waste! Whether you’re looking for electronics or clothing, Black Friday deals are waiting to be had – so be prepared to take advantage of them! Here are eight tips for scoring the best Black Friday deals this year.

1) Know what you want

You will be able to find the best Black Friday deals by knowing what you want before Black Friday shopping. Make a list of what you need and want, and then plan your shopping days based on this list.

2) Do your research

Before Black Friday shopping, take the time to do your research so you know what you’re looking for. Check out the Black Friday sales ads in your local newspaper and online, or browse around a few websites that will be doing Black Friday specials. Create a shopping list of items you want so that you can head into stores with a game plan.

3) Compare prices

If you’re looking for Black Friday gifts, make sure to compare prices before shopping. You might find the perfect gift for your loved one at a lower price than you expected! To do this, use a site like CamelCamelCamel and track prices on Amazon before Black Friday so that you know what to expect when it’s time to buy.

4) Check for online promo codes

Before Black Friday shopping starts, take a few minutes to find online promo codes for the stores and products you want. You’ll be able to score some awesome Black Friday gifts and Black Friday sales before the door-busting shopping starts.

5) Use cash back apps

Use cash back apps to get the best deals this Black Friday. Cash back apps make it possible to save up to 10% on your purchase by giving you cash back on purchases made through their links! So make sure to download one before November 24th!

6) Follow your favorite stores on social media

Your favorite stores will be the first to post deals and offer promotions on social media. If you follow your favorite stores on social media, you’re sure to find out about the best Black Friday deals. You can also sign up for email alerts from these companies so you’ll never miss a deal again!

7) Shop early

Shopping early is the best way to get the best Black Friday deals. If you wait until Black Friday, stores are usually overstocked and will not offer as many discounts. Also, there is less pressure when you shop early because stores aren’t as crowded.

5 Tips to Get Your Holiday Home Clean and Ready for Guests

It’s the holiday season, which means that your home will be filled with family and friends. If you want to ensure that your guests are as comfortable as possible in your home, you’ll need to give it a thorough cleaning so that it’s presentable when the company arrives. Keep these five cleaning tips in mind when you’re giving your holiday home its annual deep clean.

1) Schedule time for holiday cleaning

Try scheduling some time in your week to clean. Cleaning your home before the holidays is important because it creates a welcoming environment for your guests. House cleaning services can help you with this! At Plan: B Cleaning, we offer a variety of house cleaning services, even holiday cleaning! To make sure your holiday decorations are ready to go when it’s time to deck the halls, call us today!

2) Deep clean your home

Plan B Cleaning has some tips on how you can get your home clean and ready for guests in a short amount of time. Our professional cleaners recommend starting with a deep clean of the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, and entryway. After you have done this, go back and tackle areas that are more difficult or take longer to clean – think: under the couch cushions or between the seats in your car. Cleaners at Plan B Cleaning know how important it is to be clean before company comes over and we would love to help make sure your home is as clean as possible before any festivities begin!

3) Get rid of clutter

Step one in the holiday home cleaning process is getting rid of all of the clutter. Put all of your junk into boxes labeled yard sale, keep, and donate. This way, you’ll know where everything goes without spending hours searching through boxes later. You’ll be able to make a quick trip around your home for trash, giving you plenty of time to clean up before guests arrive. Keep only what brings you joy in your home!

4) Decorate strategically

Creating an atmosphere is one of the most important parts of entertaining. Creating a welcoming environment starts with a sparkling clean home. Make your first impression when guests come over by making your home smell like cinnamon or oranges by infusing smells through candles, potpourri, and more. Incorporate greenery into your holiday decorating this year by adding real or fake plants. Use white lights that are battery-operated instead of those traditional strands that never seem to work out in the end.

Maintaining a tidy house will make it easier on you as well as for your guests during their stay. When it’s time to get up from the dinner table, use coasters under drinks and glasses on tables to avoid ring marks on wood surfaces. Store holiday decorations out of sight but in easy reach when not being used so they’re not cluttering up space. Throw any extra wrapping paper and bows in the trash after using them, or store them neatly together until next year. The best way to keep your holiday decorations organized is with handy organizers from The Container Store.

5) Have a plan for when things go wrong

Planning ahead is the key to successfully completing any task. This is especially true when it comes to holiday cleaning. What do you do if you can’t find your vacuum cleaner? Or if a family member arrives early and wants to get in the house? It’s important not only to have a plan but also to make sure that everyone in your household knows what it is. Read more about how Plan: B Cleaning can help you with these holiday tasks! 10 Things to Be Thankful For This Fall

Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year, and you’ll enjoy it even more if you can muster up a few moments to be thankful for what you have. This season offers a lot of opportunities to focus on gratitude, such as pumpkin patches and corn mazes, football games and leaf peeping, getting together with family and friends, and taking in the gorgeous reds, oranges, yellows, and greens of nature around you. Here are 10 things to be thankful for this fall. Here at Plan B: Cleaning, we hope this list inspires you to slow down, and really focus on grace and gratitude!

1) Enjoying the changing of fall leaves

The leaves changing color is one of the most beautiful things about fall. Every year, it’s like Mother Nature is putting on a colorful show just for us. And it’s something we can enjoy for free! Just take a walk outside and look up. You’ll see reds, oranges, yellows, and browns all mixed together in a gorgeous display.

2) Catching up with friends and family

Friends and family are the best part of fall. There’s nothing like spending time with the people you love, whether you’re picking apples together or simply enjoying a nice meal. The cooler weather is also a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer.

Take some time to go the extra mile and show gratitude to your loved ones! Everyone loves to feel appreciated every once in a while. You can write a “thank you” note, treat them to coffee, or anything else that comes to mind!

3) Switching from summer clothes to warm sweaters

There’s nothing like the feeling of pulling on a cozy sweater after a long summer of sweltering heat. Fall fashion is so comfy and cozy – you can finally put away those light, airy summer clothes and break out the boots and scarves. Speaking of boots, there’s nothing like a good pair of fall boots to complete your outfit. Whether you’re looking for something practical to trudge through the leaves in, or something stylish to wear out on the town, there’s a boot out there for you. Just put on your favorite sweater, and bundle up with hats, scarves, and mittens if you need to. Even if you are not a fan of layers, it is a good time to appreciate the warmth of your clothes and be thankful for all that is in your closet!

4) The aroma of fall scented candles

When it comes to fall scents, there are a few that stand out. One of the most popular is the smell of pumpkin spice. This scent can be found in candles, air fresheners, and even some food and drinks. Another popular fall scent is the smell of cinnamon. This spice is often used in baking, so it’s no surprise that it’s a popular scent for candles and other home fragrance products. There are also some less traditional fall scents that are becoming more popular, like the smell of wood smoke or even tobacco. Whatever your favorite fall scent is, there’s sure to be a candle or other product that can help you enjoy it all season long! It is a good time to slow down, smell the candle, and be thankful for your sense of smell so you can enjoy unique scents this fall, as well as throughout the year!

5) The endless fall goodies

Fall is the best season for baked goods. There’s pumpkin bread, apple pie, and caramel apples. Not to mention all of the leftover Halloween candy. What’s not to love? Be appreciative of these ingredients, these treats, and whoever gets or bakes them for you!

6) Thanksgiving activities

Thanksgiving is a great time to catch up with loved ones and make new memories. From turkey and stuffing to pumpkin pie, there are so many amazing dishes to enjoy on Thanksgiving. Different families have different traditions and cuisines for this day, but we can all be thankful for this opportunity to be surrounded by good food, good friends, and family!

7) Catching up on all your favorite shows

We all know that feeling of catching up on our favorite shows. You know, when you finally have some free time and you can just sit down and chill out in front of the TV. It’s the best.

8) Football season

Speaking of TV, sports are starting back up again! Football season is just around the corner. There’s nothing like watching a good game on the couch with friends and family. Check out your favorite team’s schedule and see if you can get tickets for any games! Either way, the football, food, and friends add up to a great ambiance!

9) Winter is here soon and more holidays

After fall, we still have weather and festivities to look forward to. That is the beauty of seasons changing and time passing! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year’s Eve, and so on, it is time to be thankful for such events and their significance. Of course, this includes dressing up, eating well, and spending time with loved ones!

10) A clean home for the fall

Be thankful for your home! But, you know what would make it better? If it was cleaner! Contact us and schedule a weekly, biweekly, or monthly cleaning! We offer recurring cleaning services, as well as one-time cleaning services. Look forward to a clean home, be thankful for a clean home!
